This time I'm gonna do review for a kit from Code Geass series, Alexander
After watching the Code Geass OVA, Akito the Exiled, I was fond with the action of the Knight Frame Alexander more than what Suzaku Knightmare Frame would do for me.
Actually, I already built this kit for quite a while but too lazy to do review of it. LOL
OK, shall we go for the review?
This particular kit was a disappointment for me since the built quality is worse than HG Gunpla. Instead of using plastic for joints, Bandai opt to use polycaps type joint and the result was a weak and flimsy joint articulations. The wheels itself can roll like any other wheels and this give this kit a bit playability like a toy =D.
However, the connection for hands to the arms were loose and sometime the hands drop off and this quite disappointing for me.
By the way, I do some weathering on this using Tamiya Weathering Stick (Light Earth).
Poseability wise, due to the fact that it use polycaps for joint, dynamic poses are difficult to recreate. Nevertheless, the kit still look awesome like it was in OVA.
This kit use many stickers to make up with the lack of color separations and for I just use paint to color the kit.
Tonfa wielding!
Linear Assault Rifles “Judgement”
The rifle also can be mounted on sides of cockpit
Uruna Edge knives
What great about this particular Knightmare Frame was it is capable to transform into Insect Mode which give it a more agility and moveablity to defeat other Knightmare Frame
It also can hold two missiles in Insect Mode.
Pros
- Cheap
- Plastic quality are good
- Got a lot of hand units
- The wheels can spin rather than just for display
- The joint are weak.
- The cockpit is heavy and tend to lean backward
- The hand connection to the arm quite loose
- Basically, the runners are mostly white and you need to use paint to color the red because the stickers are LAME!
