Review - RG 1/144 MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam

Hye welcome back again for another review in Gunpla Re-BOOT

This time I'm gonna review this awesome creation from Bandai which is

Real Grade 1/144 scale MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam

What awesome about this kit was that it is a 1/144 scale but it has the capability to transform into Waverider mode just like the MG and PG version or perhaps even better =D

Lets go to the review shall we?

For introduction, this is a transformable model kit so don't expect the sturdiness build on the chest since it is hollow in the middle. Nevertheless, the model itself as a whole is firm and rigid which is nice.

The model can do kneel pose but quite awkward actually. But hey who want to do kneel pose for this model right?

This model can do almost 180 degree bend on legs and arms. Nice. This is what to expect from a seasoned model kit manufacturer. =D

Completed Model

The details on this model is outstanding =D

The model can stand straight without back weight issue. The shield itself isn't too heavy for the model. However, the V-fin can be quite fragile therefore you must be careful when handle the part especially during the transformation. The construction for this model isn't so hard but be careful when building the chest part since mine was showing plastic fatigue line on the arm parts connected to chest part.
Looking good in this pose =D

The beam sabers are put in the side waist armor (sorry for the nubmark haha)

The usual dynamic pose

If u guys watch Z Gundam, u must know that the beam rifle can actually work as a beam saber

TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE (Sort of)

Push the V-fin upward first (Gimmick like in the anime and I like it)

Lift the cockpit upward and spin the arms 90 degree toward front

Push the head downward and lift the connector upward and expand the waist part

Lift the upper part completely and careful with the V-Fin. Extend the arm outward and push the waist part inward.

Push the back armor upward to unlock the legs part and make sure u lock it on the chest part.

Lock the upper side on the back of the body and extend the waist again

Pull the legs upward and spin the legs connector downward.

Bring both arms to front and push the front skirt armor down

Bring the connector of the armor 180 degree

Make sure u lock the armor on the right place.

Bring the flying armor out and spin them about 180 degree

Lock them onto Shield

Push the feet about 90 degree.

Push the legs upfront

Push it back again and secure the position like in the pic

Waverider mode

What do I like about this kit is that they give landing gears and this is a bonus for this model hence it give the model more aircraft looks when in landing position

This is three points where u put the landing gears

The looks for this model when in wave rider mode doesn't look like a robot disguise as an aircraft but rather like the aircraft itself. Very good looking and I like it.

U can put the beam rifle on the tail stabilizer.

Lets go Lieutenant Emma!

Well this is awkward. =P

Pros

- Great looking model.
- Lots of details and the decals look good too.
- The transformation gimmick was outstanding for a 1/144 scale and matching the MG standard or possibly even better.
- The wave rider is sturdy and convincing looks
- Good articulations
- A great embodiment of Zeta Gundam

Cons

- The chest part quite fragile especially on the frame where it show some plastic fatigue (the white thingy)
- The V-fin quite thin and fragile. Must be extra careful when handling this part
- The connection of the legs on the waist quite awkward for me at least.
- Don't have the Hyper Mega Launcher unlike it MG Ver 2.0 counterpart.

Verdict

This model is good and I like it very much. It deliver such a good experience building a model kit and require some patience. Don't build it in such a haste because it has many fragile parts especially in the V-fin and chest parts. I recommend for you to buy this kit and put it in your collection.
